Tesco Group invests in MicroStrategy Platform

Tesco Group, with over 465,000 employees and 4,226 stores operating in 14 markets across Europe, Asia, and North America, has invested in the MicroStrategy Business Intelligence Platform(TM) to deliver enterprise-wide BI across their operations.

Tesco plans to use MicroStrategy to deliver head office analytics and self-service BI, including in-store dashboards across its enterprise. Following a rigorous selection process, Tesco chose MicroStrategy for its lower total cost of ownership and reduced carbon foot-print compared to previous solutions, as MicroStrategy demonstrated that it was able to run on fewer servers and make more efficient use of Tesco’s existing data warehouse platform.

Toshiba Europe Streamlines Product Planning with MicroStrategy

Toshiba Europe GmbH has chosen the MicroStrategy Business Intelligence Platform to support its supply chain management application.

Toshiba Europe plans to implement an enterprise-wide supply chain reporting application to simplify product management and planning, which has been based on Excel spreadsheets. The new MicroStrategy-based system will monitor several thousand different products each month and enable employees in the branch offices to autonomously generate additional reports and perform ad hoc analyses down to individual item level. Dr Jorg Floel, Head of Supply Chain Management commented:

Gartner publishes MicroStrategy SWOT Report

MicroStrategy Operational BI Receives BeyeNETWORK 2009 Vision Award

MicroStrategy has received the BeyeNETWORK 2009 Vision Award for Business Impact in the category of Operational BI.

MicroStrategy’s BI implementation in Nygard International, a fashion company, won the BeyeNETWORK 2009 Vision Award. MicroStrategy enabled mobile workers to receive the same reports on their mobile devices as they do on their desktops, resulting in $33,000 worth of savings on a $12,000 investment. The judges commented:

‘This is the best example of operational BI mainly for its remote Blackberry application. It is an innovative way to track sales performance and shipped and available replenishment inventory with images at all levels from SKU location up to product group and country as well as the ability to sort from best to worst’
